About BocaRatonFL.org

An independent local guide to Boca Raton, Florida: businesses, restaurants, events, guides and the city services residents look for most.

Who publishes it

BocaRatonFL.org is published by Pangea United Inc. The fastest way to reach the people who run it is the contact form; the site publishes no email address.

We are not the City of Boca Raton

This is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, or any other government body. Where we list a city service, a bill or a permit, we link to the authority’s own page, and that page is always the official source. We never take a payment on anyone’s behalf.

Where the information comes from

  • Businesses start from OpenStreetMap, an open map maintained by volunteers, and each profile links to the map record it came from. Some restaurants and venues also show photos and opening hours from Google Maps, labeled as such and refreshed within 30 days.
  • Events come from published city and organizer calendars and from submissions that a person reviews. Each imported event links to its official listing.
  • City resources link to the official page for each service, and we check that those links still work.
  • News is a headline and a link to the publication that reported it. We do not copy articles.
  • Guides are written by us and checked against the official sources named in them.

Every business profile shows when the listing last changed. We do not mark listings as “verified”, because we do not re-check every listing continuously. Confirm hours and details with the business before you go.

How the site is paid for

Advertising and sponsorship. Anything paid for carries a label, Sponsored, Featured, Paid placement or Advertisement, and is shown apart from the ordinary listings. Nobody can pay to move up a category or search result, or to appear in community resources. The full policy is on the advertise page.
