Boca Raton ZIP codes: which ones are in the city

Nine ZIP codes carry a Boca Raton address and most of them cross the city line. Which are wholly inside, which are wholly outside, which are split — and why the ZIP will never settle it for you.

A ZIP code is a postal route. It was drawn to get mail delivered, not to mark where one government stops and another starts — and in Boca Raton the two lines disagree almost everywhere.

The Postal Service accepts "Boca Raton, FL" across a wide area, a lot of which is unincorporated Palm Beach County. The city says the same thing in its own words on more than one page: a Boca Raton address does not mean you live within city limits.

The nine ZIP codes on this site

These are the nine ZIP codes on the Boca Raton businesses this site lists, with how many of those businesses sit inside and outside the city limits. They are counts of our listings as of October 2026, not of homes, but they show the pattern clearly.

Each ZIP links to the restaurants we hold there. The area names are ours, chosen to be recognizable, not official.

Reading the table

  • 33432, 33431 and 33486 — every listing we hold in them is inside the city.
  • 33487 is nearly all city, with a few listings outside.
  • 33433, 33496 and 33434 are split. In 33434 most of what we list is outside the city; in 33433 it is three to one outside. Neighbors on the same street can fall either side.
  • 33428 and 33498 are West Boca. None of the businesses we list in them is inside the city.

"None of our listings" is not the same as "no part of it", and we have no ZIP boundaries to draw from, so treat the pattern as a strong hint and nothing more.

Settling it for one address

The ZIP cannot answer the question. The property record can. Search the address on the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser's site and the parcel record names its municipality; the city also offers a Parcel Viewer from its maps page. Which Boca Raton are you in? walks through it.

To see what the Postal Service itself calls a ZIP, its Cities by ZIP Code lookup lists the recommended city name and any others it recognizes. For 33431 and 33432 it gives Boca Raton.

Why it matters

The line decides more than where your mail goes:

How we count

Every business page on this site records whether it is inside the city or in unincorporated county, where we have been able to establish it, by its location rather than by its mailing address. A handful have no ZIP on file and are left out of the table above.

Where this comes from

Checked against these on 2026-10-09. Fees, deadlines and portals change — if one of these pages disagrees with this one, the official page is right and we would like to know.

Revision history

October 2026 — First published.

We record when a guide was published and when it was last revised. We do not yet record what changed, so this is a dating record rather than a changelog.

How guides are written

Written and checked by a person, and carrying the month they were published and the month they were last revised. Where a rule or a fee applies we link the official source rather than quoting a number that will go stale.

Something out of date?

A fee that has changed, a link that has moved, an answer that is no longer right — tell us and we will check it and say we did.
