Hiring a house cleaner in Boca Raton: standard, deep or move-out — and what to ask

Most disappointments with a cleaning service come from booking one kind of clean and expecting another. What each one covers, the questions to ask before anyone has your key — and Guru Maids, a small Palm Beach County team.

A cleaning booking goes wrong in a predictable way: one person books a regular clean, the other expects the inside of the oven. The fix is knowing what each kind of clean normally covers, and asking a few plain questions before the first visit. This guide does that, then introduces a cleaning service — with one thing about it you need to know up front.

Three kinds of clean

Recurring service is usually a standard clean on a schedule — weekly, every other week or monthly — with the deeper jobs rotated in over several visits. Many services suggest a deep clean first so the regular visits start from a clean baseline. That is a reasonable suggestion, not a requirement, and you can say no.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What exactly is included? Get it in writing, room by room. "Kitchen" can mean the counters or it can mean inside the microwave.
  • Who brings the supplies? Most services bring their own. If you want particular products used — fragrance-free, or something safe for a stone countertop — leave them out and say so.
  • Will it be the same people each time? A team that comes back learns the house. Ask whether that is the plan or merely a hope.
  • Do I need to be home? Most services will clean while you are out. Agree on access — a key, a lockbox, a gate code — and write down who has it.
  • What happens if something is missed? The honest answer is "tell us and we come back". Ask how quickly.
  • Insurance. Ask whether the business carries liability insurance, and ask to see the certificate. If you live in a condominium, check whether your association needs that certificate on file before a vendor is let in.
  • The price, in writing, before the first visit. A good service quotes from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and the kind of clean, and sticks to it.

Guru Maids

Guru Maids is a small, local house-cleaning team — not a franchise — based in Royal Palm Beach, in western Palm Beach County, and cleaning homes there since 2020. It does standard, deep, move-in and move-out, and recurring cleaning, and also cleans offices and small commercial spaces.

Read this before you call: its website lists four service areas — Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Palm Springs and Lake Worth Beach — and Boca Raton is not one of them. Its site's advice, if you are nearby and not sure, is to call and ask. From Boca, that call is the first step: ask whether they will come this far south before you plan around them.

What its site says about how it works:

  • A quote before the first visit, based on the size of the home and the type of clean you want.
  • It brings its own supplies and equipment, and will use yours instead if you ask.
  • The same team where it can manage it.
  • You do not have to be home.
  • If something was missed, tell them and they will sort it out with you.

Its move-out clean includes the inside of the oven, the fridge and the cabinets; for a deep clean, the oven and fridge are something to ask about when you request the quote. Its website reports a 4.8 out of 5 rating across 40 Google reviews as of September 2026.
