West Boca is the part of "Boca Raton" that is not the City of Boca Raton: the neighborhoods west of the Turnpike, in unincorporated Palm Beach County. It has no city hall and no city recreation department, so the events the City publishes — Sugar Sand Park, Gumbo Limbo, downtown — are all east of it. What West Boca does have is two county library branches, and they run more free programming than most residents realize.
Everything on this page is at one of them. The West Boca Branch Library, on State Road 7, and the Glades Road Branch Library, on 95th Avenue South west of the Turnpike, publish family storytimes, take-and-make crafts, book clubs, one-on-one tech help, iPhone basics and English and Spanish conversation groups. Nearly all of it is free. West Boca is inside the county Library District, so a card is free to residents there — City of Boca Raton residents are not, which our library card guide explains.
Some sessions ask you to register, and the library’s own page — linked on each listing — is where you do it. If you run a West Boca event that is open to the public, send it in; a person reads every submission before it appears.
